New Project

the thrill of Chapter 1

I have begun a new writing project. It’s the most beautifully intoxicating part of any endeavor: the beginning. The blank slate, the fresh canvas, the pristine page. All of it floods my head with giddy joy. I can surrender to gorgeous daydreams. The great ‘what if.’

What this project is I dare not say. It’s so new and fresh, its fibers not yet sprung through the surface. But if it takes the shape that I envision, then it will be a big endeavor. Realistically it’ll take months of concerted effort. The hard work, the research, the many moments of getting lost. In order to get to the other side, I will have to shoulder it all. Fear being the primary obstacle and burden.

In the meantime I will continue to hold the dreamy, liquid vision of what it might one day be. Hopefully that will sustain me enough to keep some new-project momentum past the honeymoon phase.

My PDW posts might get a little anemic. Or perhaps I’ll take you all along the writing journey with me and share weekly updates. Maybe both will happen. In either case I wish you all a most joyful weekend and loads of creative inspiration. Lord knows I need some of that.
